Forlorn, at the crossroads.
My sinister companion smirks, from afar.
The chase is on. I live for these moments.
We marvel at Darwin's perfect specimens,
repulsed by the ones he should have discarded.
Save your excuses
for someone who cares.
A pyramid of sorrow stalks me in the night.
As I'm running,
I feel my breath slipping away.
Ungodly strength forces my hand to
plunge the knife. I feel it
cutting deeper. I'm clinging to life.
The bold march on without remorse -
They cherish nothing. They cherish no one
but their idols. In the garden,
we grow complacent, until we're banished.
Then we crave it,
and our hearts are filled with regret.
We plead with merciful Eden - the Goddess.
Vindictive, she welcomes us with open arms
to our temple in ruins.
Find the way home to cure what ails you.
Sickness is a distortion of the mind,
but such a violent disease will still kill you, after all.
I need a safe place without judgments.
I feel alone, Islands fading away.
She can't see me beyond the starlight's hue.
The blameless wag their fingers in the air,
gluttons of pride and self satisfaction.
The truth is: We live and die by our own hypocrisies.
Seeking fulfillment in each other's misery.
Tread lightly in the holy realm, boy.
Your grandiose endeavors will not
illuminate the world.
And I cannot look out for you much longer.
You abandoned us - left us to die.
This will be my last stand.
Oh my queen - queen of the barren wasteland.
You sit on your throne and wither away.
Do you believe they will call you "martyr?"
Or will dying alone absolve your conscience?
You cannot save someone that doesn't want to be saved.
My queen... My queen.

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
